Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University soccer team will conclude NSIC play this weekend, facing the University of Mary from home and then traveling to take on No. 11 Minot State on the road. Late in the season, NSU has compiled an overall record of 8-7-0 and are currently 6-7-0 in the conference. In the NSIC standings, the Wolves find themselves ranked eighth heading into the two final regular season matches.
Northern State recorded two wins last weekend, defeating Upper Iowa 2-0 and Winona State 1-0. In the two victories, senior
Anna Bondy led the Wolves with two goals and one assist. Bondy had an NSIC high five points and finished the weekend with six shots and five shots on goal for a shooting percentage of .833.
Goalkeeper
Stacey Cavill recorded two-consecutive shutouts on the road, facing 29 shots and recording 14 saves for a save percentage of 1.000.
Anna Bondy was selected as NSIC Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season, while Cavill nabbed NSIC Goalkeeper of the Week for the first time in her career.
The Wolves will host Senior Day on Friday at 2 p.m. from Jerde Field and will then travel to take on Minot State on Sunday at 1 p.m. for their final regulation match.
