Sioux Falls, S.D. – In their second road match of the weekend, the Northern State University volleyball team fell to Sioux Falls 3-1. The Wolves drop to 11-4 overall and 4-3 in Northern Sun Conference play.
Northern hit a season low .088 in the match with 38 kills and 27 attack errors. The Wolves fell with set scores of 12-25, 12-25, 25-22, and 15-25. The Cougars hit .311 as a team with 58 kills and just 17 attack errors.
Holly Vancura led the team with 11 kills, while
Tori Biach,
Lauren McCafferty, and Kelli Schmit each notched a team second best seven in the game.
Lexi Lockhart returned to the court, and knocked down four kills, followed by
Ashley Rozell and
Kenna Taylor with one apiece. Rozell notched 33 assists and added a team third best seven digs.
Leading the team on defense was
Jaiden Langlie with 12 digs, followed by Vancura and
Amanda Tobin with nine and seven respectively. McCafferty and Schmit led the team at the net with five blocks each as the Wolves combined for nine in the game.
Northern will look to bounce back at home next weekend in a pair of matches against Minnesota Crookston and Bemidji State. Matches are scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday and 4 p.m. on Saturday.
