Arvidson Leads Wolves with 37 Points in Overtime Loss

Mankato, Minn. – In a hard fought battle on the road, the Northern State University men's basketball team fell to Minnesota State, 119-115 in double-overtime. The Wolves drop to 12-9 overall and 8-7 in league action.
 
Northern trailed 49-45 at the half and battled back with 49 points of their own in the second to tie things at 94 all at the end of regulation. Each team shot above 50 percent from the floor in the game, however the Wolves struggled from the foul line shooting just 18-of-30.
 
Mack Arvidson had a career night for the Wolves with 37 points. Arvidson shot 13-of-22 from the floor, 5-of-11 from the arc, and 6-of-9 from the foul line. He also added four rebounds and one assist. Skye Warwick was second on the team with 28 points, Warwick tallied a team high eight three point baskets and shot 9-of-14 from the floor.
 
Michael Schreiber added another 12 points off the bench, while Darin Peterka and DJ Pollard each tallied ten. Peterka led the team with seven assists and Pollard followed with five. Pollard led the Wolves on the boards with six rebounds, followed by Carter Evans and Schreiber with five each. Bo Fries and Evans added the team's final points with nine a piece. Evans led the team with three blocks and added four assists.
 
Both the Wolves and the Mavericks notched 13 points off ten opponent turnovers. Minnesota State out-rebounded Northern 41-35 in the win, and tallied 19 points off 13 offensive rebounds. NSU tallied a game leading 49 points off the bench, while MSU notched 58 points in the paint.
 
The Wolves will look to bounce tomorrow night versus Concordia-St. Paul. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. following the women's game.
