Score SheetMarshall, Minn. – The Northern State wrestling team fell to Southwest Minnesota State 29-19 in their fourth NSIC dual of the season. The Wolves fall to 5-10 in duals this year.
Carson Henry notched the team's first win of the evening defeating Antonio Meikel by fall at 1:44. Henry's six points gave the Wolves a 6-3 lead heading into the 141 match. The win marked his seventh victory by fall this season.
Tyler Stenberg re-gained the lead for NSU with a 15-1 major decision victory over Zachary Beaumaster. Stenberg tallied just four points in the first two periods, however broke things open in the third. The junior started the final two minutes of action with a reversal and four point nearfall. He tallied four more points in the period to take the 15-1 victory.
Blake Perryman followed with a solid victory of his own, defeating Patrick Kelley 13-8. Perryman opened with a high scoring first period, as he took a 10-3 lead. Kelley fought back with two points in the second, however Perryman sealed the victory with three more points in the third.
Joe Gomez tallied Northern's final victory over the night in the 197-pound match. Gomez defeated Ashton Bartlett by fall at 2:19 in the match. The victory was Gomez's third by fall in 2015-16.
The Wolves will return home next Thursday against MSU Moorhead in an "I Hate Winter" dual. Competition is set for 7 p.m. from Wachs Arena.
