Listen LiveAberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State men's basketball team will continue their road haul this weekend at Minnesota State and Concordia-St. Paul. The Wolves are set to take on the Mavericks at 8 p.m. on Friday, and then travel to face the Golden Bears at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
The Wolves continue on the road after a weekend of battles versus Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston. Northern fell to the Beavers on a last second bucket and fought to take down the Golden Eagles in overtime.
Carter Evans shined for NSU averaging 23 points and 6.5 rebounds in the two games. The sophomore also added five blocks, three steals, and two assists while shooting 71.4 percent from the floor. Currently sitting fourth in the NSIC North, the Wolves look to build continue solid play in January where they have posted a 7-2 record. As a unit, the Wolves are shooting 48.5 percent from the floor, 40.7 percent from the 3-point line, and 70.5 percent from the foul line.
Darin Peterka sits top-10 in the league in scoring (16.6), rebounding (6.5), assists (4.1), steals (2.2), assist/turnover ratio (2.4), and defensive rebounds (5.1).
Mack Arvidson has been solid off the bench averaging 9.1 points and 21.6 minutes per game.
About the Mavericks • Minnesota State enters the weekend 14-6 overall and 9-5 in league action, with a second place standing in the NSIC South.
