Wayne, Neb.- The Northern State soccer team picks up their second consecutive wins as they defeat Wayne State this afternoon by a score of 3-1. The Wolves improve to 2-1-1 in NSIC play and 4-2-1 overall. Wayne State drops to 0-4 in the conference and 0-5-2 overall.
Early in the seventh minute,
Darian Leschewski took a shot into the middle of the net off the foot of
Allie Macdonald for first goal of the match. The Wolves did not keep the 1-0 lead for long, as junior Kelsey Engstrom answer back with an unassisted goal for the Wildcats.
Darian Leschewski stepped up for Northern and scored once again in the 24
th and 45
th minutes of the game to complete the hat trick.
Northern outshot Wayne State 17-9 in the game. The Wolves compiled nine shots on goal, three of which from
Darian Leschewski and two more coming off of
Anna Bondy. Goalkeeper,
Brittany Tietz added three saves to the cause and advances to 2-0 in the net for the Wolves this season.
The Northern soccer team will take on the Augustana Vikings tomorrow from Morstad Field in Sioux Falls, S.D. at 1 p.m..
