Wolves Head to Minnesota Crookston and Bemidji State for Regular Season Finale

Aberdeen, S.D. - The Northern State University women's basketball team takes to the road this weekend versus Minnesota Crookston and Bemidji State. The Wolves will match up with the Golden Eagles, Friday at 6 p.m., from Crookston and then take on the Beavers, Saturday at 4 p.m., from Bemidji. 

The Wolves women enter the weekend after a split with St. Cloud State and Minn. Duluth. Northern fell to the Huskies 59-61 and then returned to defeat the Bulldogs 79-59 from Wachs Arena. The women currently lead the NSIC North Division and were picked eighth in the first NCAA Regional Rankings. After a two night double-double weekend Rachel Krogman leads the Wolves averaging 16.2 points and 10.7 rebounds per game. She is also fourth in the leagues in scoring, second in rebounding, and first in offensive boards per game. She ranks 11th national in double-doubles with 15 on the year. Despite the fumble a weekend ago, NSU continues to lead the league in scoring defense (53.2), field goal percentage defense (34.0%), rebounding margin (+9.7), and assist/turnover ratio (1.3).

About Crookston

Crookston enters the weekend in third in the NSIC North. Golden Eagles guard Alexa Thielman leads the team averaging 16.4 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. Junior forward Katrina Moenkedick comes in averaging 14.8 points and 6.5 rebounds on the year. Ebony Livingston leads the league in free-throw percentage at 93.8 for the season.

Earlier this Season 

Northern defeated Minnesota Crookston 66-42 at home a few short weeks ago. Rachel Krogman scored a career high 30 points on the night, while brining down 11 rebounds. NSU shot 46.4 percent from the floor in
the win. 

About Bemidji

Bemidji State currently sits last in the NSIC North with three conference wins on the year. Sierra Senske is the Beavers main attack, leading the team in scoring, rebounds, and blocks. BSU's three wins have come against U-Mary, Minnesota Crookston, and Southwest Minnesota State.

Earlier this Season 

The Wolves topped the Beavers from Wachs Arena, 72-44. Megan Mutchler led NSU with 14 points and six rebounds in the win. Paige Waytashek and Sadie Stotesbery notched 11 and ten points respectively
for NSU.
