Photo GalleryAberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University women's basketball fell to St. Cloud State University 59-61 from Wachs Arena. The Wolves drop to 19-6 overall and 13-6 in conference play.
Rachel Krogman led Northern with 20 points and 14 rebounds in the game. She was followed by
Devon Brecke with 13 points, four rebounds, and four assists.
Sadie Stotesbery tallied eight points and six rebounds, while
Paige Waytashek notched seven points.
Megan Mutchler and
Kara Hofschild connected for six and five points respectively. Mutchler added six rebounds and three assists.
The Wolves were out-shot in the game 43.1-37, however pulled in 12 more rebounds than the visiting Huskies. Northern's 14 offensive boards resulted in 13 points, 11 of which came in the first half of play.
Trailing 29-33 at the half, NSU came back to regain the lead through the second. With under five minutes remaining, St. Cloud State went on a 12-4 run to take the lead and the game from the Wolves.
NSU will return to Wachs Arena tomorrow, for a Saturday match-up with Minnesota Duluth. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m. between the two teams.
