Sixty Point Second Half Launches Wolves over Bulldogs

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University women's basketball team put out an impressive second half of play, to comeback for the 79-59 victory over Minnesota Duluth. The Wolves improve to 20-6 overall and 14-6 in NSIC action.
 
Northern entered the locker room at halftime down 19-28, while going only 8-of-25 from the floor. The Wolves broke away at the 15 minute mark. Lauren Deadrick widen the NSU spread to ten and 11 points with two made free-throws and the Wolves did not look back. Northern led by as much as 22 in the remaining minutes, and brought home the 20 points victory.
 
Rachel Krogman led the Wolves with 22 points and 11 rebounds for her 15th double-double of the season and fourth straight. Krogman added three assists and three steals, while going 9-for-11 from the floor. Megan Mutchler was hot for NSU tallying 19 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and one steal. Mutchler notched 17 of her 19 points in the second half of play.
 
Paige Waytashek was the final double-digit scorer of the evening with 12 points and two blocks. Sadie Stotesbery and Devon Brecke each tallied nine points in the win. Stotesbery added four rebounds and two assists, as Brecke notched three assists.
 
The Wolves monstrous 60 point second half was capped off with a 76.9 shooting percentage, going 20-of-26 from the floor and 19-of-24 from the foul line. NSU tallied 42 points in the paint and 23 points off 16 Bulldog turnovers.
 
Lauren Deadrick recorded four points, while Miranda Ristau and Kara Hofschild each tallied two point. Hofschild added three assists and two steals in the contest.
 
NSU will travel to Minnesota Crookston and Bemidji State next Friday and Saturday for the final two games of the NSIC regular season. The Wolves will tip-off with the Golden Eagles at 6 p.m. on Friday, and then return at 4 p.m. Saturday versus the Beavers.
