Listen LiveAberdeen, S.D. - The Northern State University men's basketball team is set to open the New Year on the road at Winona State University and Upper Iowa. The Wolves will face-off against the Warriors on Saturday at 6 p.m., and then travel for a 4 p.m. match-up on Sunday versus the Peacocks.
The Wolves enter the holiday weekend after a tough home loss to No. 4 MSU Moorhead in mid-December. NSU lead 39-33 at the half, however a 49 point second half for the Dragons saw the NSU lead slip away.
Darin Peterka led the team for the third game straight with 16 points. The junior has worked his way into the top ten in the NSIC in scoring, rebounding, steals, and 3-point field goals made. Senior
Skye Warwick is well on his way to scoring his 1,000th point and becoming the 50th member of the Wolves Club as he sits with 989 points currently. True freshmen
Bo Fries has earned himself a starting role, playing solid defense this season.
Mack Arvidson is leading the NSU bench averaging 9.3 points and 22.2 minutes per game. The key for Northern is to cut down on costly second half turnovers, as well as keep their pace on offense and avoiding rushing to the basket.
