Aberdeen, S.D.- The Northern State women's basketball team picked up their second consecutive NSIC victory from home
tonight defeating St. Cloud State University. The Wolves gave the Huskies their first conference loss by outscoring them 71-68 in the match-up. NSU improves to 7-3 overall and 3-2 in NSIC play, while SCSU drops to 4-4 overall and 4-1 in the conference.
NSU came out in the first quarter holding St. Cloud State to eight points early in the first ten minutes of play. The two teams completed the first half with the Wolves up 33-26. St. Cloud State recorded 26 points in the final quarter, but were unable to seal the comeback.
Senior
Lauren Deadrick had a career high night, recording 15 rebounds and 17 points in the match. Three additional Wolves were in double digit points, including;
Devon Brecke with 16,
Jill Conrad with 14 and
Paige Waytashek with 11 total points. Waytashek also nabbed five assists from the guard position.
The Wolves out-rebounded their opponents for the ninth time this season, collecting 40 total and creating 23 second chance points in the contest. Northern State also outshot the Huskies from field goal range with an overall 43.6 percent compared to 41.3 percent.
St. Cloud State also had four starters in double-digit points, led by junior Chelsea Nooker with 19 total. The Huskies recorded 22 points off of turnovers, and went 90.0 percent from the free throw line, but it was not enough to defeat the Wolves from home.

4 p.m. against Minnesota State University Moorhead.
