Russellville, Ark. – After a slow start, the Northern State University men's basketball team captured the 73-67 victory over Harding University from the Arkansas Tech Classic. The Wolves improve to 1-1 overall with four non-conference games remaining.
 
Senior Skye Warwick led the Wolves for the second straight night with a career high 26 points. Warwick shot 9-of-15 from the floor and 6-of-12 from the arch. Mack Arvidson and DJ Pollard followed with 12 and ten points respectively. Arvidson led the NSU bench with 12 of the 22 points in the win and shot 50.0 percent from the floor.
 
Northern's largest lead of 14 points, came with under five minutes remaining in the second half. The Wolves tallied 28 points in the paint and 12 points off ten offensive boards. Pollard led the team with eight rebounds, five steals, and five assists.  NSU shot 45.6 percent from the floor and 43.5 percent from the arch. The two team's battled throughout with four ties and seven total lead changes.
 
NSU shot 35.5 percent in the first half of play and tallied 30 points, trailing the Bison by two. Warwick led the team with 15 of the team's 43 points in the second half, where the Wolves shot 57.7 percent from the floor. Northern struggled from the foul line, shooting 55.0 percent. Decker and Peterka both went 3-of-3 from the free throw line.
 
Also scoring in the win was Darin Peterka with seven points and Carter Evans with six. Starters Spencer Pankonin and Justin Decker notched three and five points respectively, while Michael Schreiber tallied four.
 
The Wolves will be back in action Thursday from a non-conference match-up at Southwest Minnesota State. The two teams will tip-off at 8 p.m. from Marshall.
