Women's ResultsJamestown, N.D. – The Northern State men's and women's cross country team's participated in the Jimmie Invitational Friday afternoon, as a quick tune-up heading into NSIC action. After back-to-back weekends at the Roy Griak and SDSU Open the Wolves looked to pack up as a group throughout the beginning miles of the race, and hit the ground hard to finish strong.
The afternoon opened with the men's 8k run.
Hunter Kopff was the top finisher for the Wolves in 24
th with a time of 28:02.00. Close behind Kopff were
Blake Perryman (28:06.00),
Adam Leach (28:10.00), and
Tanner Peltier (28:10.70). The race marked the first in nearly two seasons for Leach, heading into the conference meet. Also finishing in the top 40 were
Thomas Horgeshimer,
Ben Jack,
Nathan Patterson, and
Clay Danielson.
Nicholas Lindwurm and
Cameron Sannes rounded out the top 50 in the race, while
Jacob Schweitzer and
Zachary Ulmer finished in under 31 minutes. The Northern State men tallied 123 points, and finished fourth overall.
Leading the way for the NSU women, in the night cap was
Dakotah Bullen in fifth place. Bullen finished with a time of 18:37.00.
Sasha Hovind was back on the course for the first time this season, running unattached. The junior finished just one second shy of Bullen in seventh place. Rounding out the top-25 for the NSU women was
Paige Larson in 24
th with a time of 20:03.00.
Hanna Wahl and
Nicole Arnold finished 26
th and 29
th overall, while
Lindsey Gast snuck into the top half of the competition with a time of 20:19.00.
Courtney Brandt was took 45
th overall as the final runner for NSU. The women also finished in fourth place with 112 team points.
Up next for the Wolves is the 2015 NSIC Cross Country Championships October 24
th from St. Paul. The women's race begins at 10 a.m. with the men to follow at 11:15.
