Wolves Return Home for the 2015 Ag Bowl

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University Wolves return home this weekend for the 2015 Ag Bowl versus MSU Moorhead from Swisher Field. The Wolves and Dragons will kick-off at 1 p.m. on Saturday in the second week of NSIC divisional play.
 
Northern enters the weekend 1-4 overall after a 45-14 victory over Minot State a weekend ago. The Wolves offense saw production across the field with two receiving touchdowns by Conner Doherty and Tyrell Anderson and three rushing touchdowns from Nicholas Truen, Chaka Kelly, and Christian McAlvain. The NSU defense also tallied three sacks for a total loss of 30 yards and two interceptions in the win. Truen leads the NSU rushing game with 269 yards and two touchdowns this season. He is averaging 3.9 yards per carry and 53.8 yards per game. Doherty leads the receiving effort with 290 yards and one touchdown this season. The junior is averaging 12.1 yards per reception and 58.0 yards per game. Kyle Lavand added to his season totals a weekend ago, the freshmen has tallied six touchdowns and is averaging 167.0 yards per game. Senior Devin Olson sits atop the NSU defense with 37 tackles this season. He has also tallied a team leading five tackles for a total loss of 44 yards. Channing Barber is solid on defense with a team second best 22.5 tackles and team leading two interceptions, as well as special teams, averaging 29.8 yards per kick return.
 
About the Dragons
• MSU Moorhead enters the weekend with a 3-2 record overall and 0-1 record in the North Division., with wins over Winona State, Concordia-St. Paul, and Augustana.
• The Dragons are led by fifth year head coach Steve Laqua.
• Zayne Medhaug is leading the Dragon rush game this season with 204 total yards and four touchdowns on 56 carries. Likewise, Adam Jiskra leads the team in receiving with 255 yards and five touchdowns on 19 receptions.
 
Last Match-Up
• The Wolves defeated MSUM 40-38 on the road in 2014. The close matchup saw Northern score double-digits in three of the four quarters.
Zachery Barber tallied two touchdowns in the win, while Cameron Pudwill, Nicholas Truen, and Conner Doherty each recorded one.
• Truen tallied 152 yards rushing, while Z. Barber was just shy of three figures with 97 yards receiving.
