Aberdeen, S.D.- With a season high of four goals, the Northern State soccer team defeated the University of Sioux Falls by a final score of 4-2. The Wolves improve to 6-8-1 overall and 4-6-1 in the NSIC, while the Cougars fall to 2-12-0 on the season and 1-11-0 in the conference.
Battling back and forth in the first period, the game remained scoreless until the 30
th minute of play when senior
Allie Macdonald shuffled down the left side of the field to connect with forward
Anna Bondy who struck a shot passed USF goalkeeper, Morgan Perkins, for the first goal of the match.
Coming out fresh in the second half, Hunter Mathieu of the Cougars, connected for a goal to put the University of Sioux Falls on the board. All tied 1-1, defender
Sydney Shintaffer scrambled for the rebound off of her own blocked shot and knocked in the goal to put Northern State back in the lead. In the 57
th minute of play, USF midfielder Alexandria Scott, responded once again for the Cougars making it a 2-2 match.
In the last 20 minutes of the game, the Wolves went on an explosive offensive attack. Off of a throw in, freshman
Karli Harney, passed the ball in play to
Allie Macdonald who drippled through USF defenders and connected for goal three.
Allie Macdonald and
Karli Harney then created a breakaway minutes later, as Macdonald passed inside the box to Harney to connect for her first goal of the season. The goal marked the last of the match for both teams, and resulted in the 4-2 final score

Anna Bondy contributed to her team high goals in the contest, and made it seven on the year.
Allie Macdonald added a goal and two assists, tallying five goals in the 2015 season and a matching five total assists.
Northern State will continue action tomorrow at 1 p.m. from Jerde Field against Southwest State University.
