th straight victory, the No. 6 Northern State University volleyball team swept Minnesota State. The Wolves defeated the Mavericks with set scores of 25-15, 25-10, and 25-20. Northern improves to 19-0 on the year, 11-0 in the NSIC. Minnesota State drops to 12-7 and 6-5 in the NSIC.
The Wolves captured their fifth victory from Wachs Arena recording 37 kills and 41 digs as a unit. Northern hit well as a team with a .318 mark, led by
Kellie Schmit who was errorless in the win. The Mavericks struggled to get things going offensively with only 24 kills and a .021 attack percentage. It is the 11
th time this season that NSU has held their opponents under .100.
Tori Biach led the way tonight with nine kills, one ace and a block. Biach hit .444 with only one attack error and add three digs.
Mandy Kurosky led the team for the second night in a row with four aces and added eight kills. Kurosky hit a solid .389 in the win and notched five digs.
Kellie Schmit led the team with three blocks and added five kills to the team total.
Senior
Kelsey Chambers was solid on the defensive side of the court, leading the team with seven digs. Chambers matched that with seven kills.
Annika van Oosbree,
Drew Smith, and
Renee Hoffman were second on the team with six digs each. Smith recorded all but one of the Wolves 37 assists in the win.
Northern will return to Wachs Arena, Tuesday for a 7 p.m. match-up with MSU Moorhead. Sanford Health and the Edith Sanford Breast Cancer Center will sponsor the match.
