Fayette, Iowa- The Northern State soccer team fell to Upper Iowa this morning in a close 2-1 contest. Both teams have now played eight NSIC match ups on the year. The Wolves drop back to 2-5-1 in the conference and 4-6-1 overall, while the Peacocks improve to 4-3-1 in the conference and 5-4-2 overall.
Action began in the 19
th minute of the game as the Peacocks leading scorer, Madie Edwards, connected with one of her seven total shot from the top of the box. The ball rolled passed goalkeeper,
Brittany Tietz and was good for the first goal of the game.
In the middle of the second half as the Wolves were down 0-1, the Peacocks fouled resulting in a Northern State free kick. Senior
Amber Wanous set up the play and found midfielder
Allie Macdonald who connected for her second goal of the season. In the 75
th minute, tied 1-1, the Peacocks senior threat, Madie Edwards, notched in a penalty kick for the game-winning goal, making it her 10
th on the year.
Statistically, the two teams had fairly even numbers in the match up. Upper Iowa compiled 12 shots on goal, Northern State tallied eight, and both teams had two total corner kick opportunities. For the Wolves,

Karli Harney all recorded two shots on goals.
Northern State travels to Winona, Minn. to take on the Warriors at 1 p.m. tomorrow from Altra Federal Credit Union Stadium.
