Photo Gallery Aberdeen, S.D. – The No. 15 Northern State University women's basketball team bounced back at home in Friday NSIC play with a 72-44 victory over Bemidji State. The Wolves improve to 16-3 overall and 9-3 in the league.
Megan Mutchler led the Northern attack with 14 points and six rebounds in the win. Mutchler was 5-for-6 from the floor and 4-for-4 from the foul line.
Paige Waytashek notched 11 points, while
Sadie Stotesbery tallied ten in the game. Stotesbery and
Rachel Krogman each compiled six rebounds, while Krogman added nine points. Stotesbery led the team with four assists in the game, while final starter
Devon Brecke combined for six points and three rebounds.
The Wolves recorded 22 points off the bench led by
Lauren Deadrick with eight. Deadrick also tallied six rebounds, and was 4-for-6 from the free-throw line. Seeing more time on the floor,
Alexis Tappe tallied five points and two assists in the win.

Miranda Ristau each added two scores to the team total.
Northern shot 40.6 percent from the floor and 72.0 percent from the foul line, while holding the Beavers to 29.8 percent from the floor and 54.5 percent from the foul line. Strong defense and rebounding were the keys for the Wolves, as they held Bemidji to 17 first half points and out-rebounded their opponents 54-29. The Wolves scored 28 points in the paint, 15 points off BSU turnovers, and 11 second chance points.
NSU will return to Wachs Arena tomorrow night, as they take on the Golden Eagles of Minnesota Crookston. Game time is set for 5 p.m. between the two teams. UMC fell to MSU Moorhead, 63-68, in Friday night play.
