Photo GalleryAberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University women's basketball team secured their 12
th win over the season over Winona State University. The 50-48 victory moves to the Wolves to 12-1 overall and 6-1 in Northern Sun Conference play. 
The Wolves scored first and led the majority of the game. WSU tied the score on three occasions in the first half of play, however was unable to secure a lead throughout. The two teams left the first half with a score of 25-25, after a Warrior trey at the 2:35 mark. 
Rachel Krogman shot 52.9 percent from the floor, tallying 22 points alongside five rebounds. Krogman added three assists, one block, and one steal in the victory. Although the Warriors out-shot the Wolves (40.9% - 35.1%) in the contest, the Northern defense forced 18 turnovers for 12 points. 
Megan Mutchler and 
Sadie Stotesbery led the NSU rebounding efforts with eight a piece on the night. Mutchler tallied seven points, while Stotesbery added eight. 
Devon Brecke matched Mutchler's seven points in the game going 3-for-7 from the floor. 
Northern currently leads the nation in scoring defense at 46.9 points, as they continued to shine holding the Warriors who averaged 76.3. The Wolves out-rebounded their opponents 36-30 in the matchup with 14 offensive boards. 
NSU's largest lead of the game, 11 points, came with just under 11 minutes remaining in the game as Krogman connected for her final free-throw make of the night. Northern stumbled a bit as the clocked wound down, and the Warriors cut the lead down to two. Brecke helped seal the deal for the women hitting her third jumper of the night and putting the Wolves up by four. 
The Wolves will be back in action tomorrow from Wachs Arena with a 5 p.m. matchup versus the Peacocks of Upper Iowa University.
