Aberdeen, S.D. - The Northern State University women's basketball team opens the 2014-15 NSIC regular season Saturday from Wachs Arena. MSU Moorhead visits Aberdeen for a 5 p.m. match-up with the Wolves. Northern is a perfect 6-0 on the year. 

Northern heads into conference play with a 6-0 record and no.12 national ranking. The Wolves are led by Rachel Krogman, who averages 15.3 points and 9.8 rebounds per game. Krogman is only 11 points away from reaching the 1,000 career mark. NSU's previous two wins came against SD School of Mines (68-39) and Mayville State University (87-55). The Wolves have yet to be out-rebounded in a contest and recorded five 20+ point victories. Sadie Stotesbery, Megan Mutchler, and Krogman led the Wolves to out-rebound the Hardrockers 50-35. Northern also has depth from the bench averaging 19.0 points per game. The Wolves must improve
their shooting percent from both the free-throw line and three-point arch heading into NSIC play.

About MSUM

The Dragons were picked seventh overall and fifth in the North Division in the NSIC Preseason Coaches Poll. MSU Moorhead's lone win of the season came against San Francisco State University, 78-67. Junior guard Megan Roehrich scored a career high 35 points in the win.

All-Time NSU vs. MSUM

The Wolves are 42-21 all-time versus the Dragons. NSU has won the last three contests with MSUM, taking both in 2013-14 with scores of 96-88 and 70-45. Northern's longest win streak ran from 1995-2002, where the Wolves compiled 11 straight victories against the Dragons. Mutchler and Krogman averaged 24 and 21 points respectively in their first win over MSUM a season ago. Krogman led the team with 15 points in victory number two.
