Photo GalleryAberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University women's basketball team secured their third victory of the season, 68-48 over the University of Jamestown Jimmies in the home opener. The Wolves are a perfect 3-0 heading into a two game weekend.
Rachel Krogman led the NSU offense with 21 points and four assists in the win. Krogman recorded her first double-double of the season with a game high 12 rebounds. Senior
Megan Mutchler added 13 points and eight rebounds of her own, going 5-for-6 from the floor and 3-for-4 from the free throw line.
The NSU offense shot 51.1 percent from the floor and 79.2 percent from the free throw line.

Sadie Stotesbery, and
MacKinzie Magner notched seven points apiece on the night. The Wolves largest lead of the game, at 21 points, came with two minutes remaining spurred by a
Megan Mutchler score.
Paige Waytashek and
Sami Smith added four points apiece, while
Kara Hofschild recorded five.
The Wolves out-rebounded the Jimmies 40-28, pulling down 32 defensive rebounds in total. Nineteen NSU turnovers led to 20 UJ points. Northern's strength continues to lie down low, as the team tallied 32 points in the paint, eight of which came off offensive rebounds. The Northern defense held Jamestown to a 25.5 percent from the floor and 17.6 percent from three point range.
Northern will be back in action this Friday for Wachs Arena, as the Yellow Jackets of Black Hills State come to town. Game time is set for 7 p.m. between the two teams.
