The Northern State volleyball team was swept by second-ranked Minnesota Duluth Friday night in Aberdeen. Set scores went 25-17, 26-24 and 25-21. The Wolves fall to 15-7 overall and 8-6 in the NSIC this season. UMD has now won 15 matches in a row.

Neither team looked sharp in the match as Northern hit just .109 while the Bulldogs (21-1, 14-0 NSIC) hit .180. The Wolves had just one ace and one error but UMD recorded eight service aces and had three serving errors.

Kelsey Chambers led the Northern offense with 11 kills in the loss. Cari McGarvie added eight and a team-high three blocks. Jussy Tuscherer and Tori Biach had five kills each. Drew Smith returned from injury and recorded her ninth double-double of the season as she had 28 assists and 12 digs, she also had Northern's only ace of the match. Renee Hoffman led the team with 17 digs from her libero position.

Northern returns to action Saturday night as St. Cloud State comes to town for a 6 p.m. match.
