ABERDEEN, S.D. - In a complete reversal of the first meeting between the two teams, the Northern State Wolves raced out to a big first half lead and never looked back en-route to a 79-64 win over the U-Mary Marauders Saturday evening in the 2012-13 regular season men's basketball finale.

The win - NSU's second of the weekend at the Aberdeen Civic Arena - moves NSU to 19-10 overall and 14-8 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play.  U-Mary fell to 4-22 overall and 3-19 in the loop.

In the initial meeting with the Marauders back in December, Northern State was forced to overcome a 12-point halftime deficit to get the win.  Not so on Saturday, as the Wolves carved out a 40-26 advantage by the break, thanks in large part to a barrage of three-point buckets up and down the line.

Junior Jared Hannigan and sophomore Michael Emge had two treys apiece, while Mitch White and Skye Warwick added one of their own.  Warwick's trey came from the deep corner as time ran out in the half, carrying the Wolves into the break riding a wave of momentum.

U-Mary would get no closer than ten the rest of the way, and that early in the second half before the Wolves pushed their lead to as many as 28 on Warwick's second three of the night with 3:47 left to play.

Northern State's Dustin Tetzlaff benefited from the NSU outside scoring spree, tallying 18 points to lead all NSU scorers.  Tetzlaff scored his 1,000th NSU point midway through the second half.  Senior Collin Pryor added 15 points and eight rebounds for the Wolves, while Hannigan chimed in with 11 points, five boards and six assists.  Senior Geoffrey Firmin also added 11 points to the NSU total.

U-Mary's Marc Musungayi and Jalen Jaspers accounted for all but 14 of the Marauders' 64 points.  Musungayi tallied 27 and Jaspers, 23 as the duo combined to go 23-for-35 from the floor.

NSU will return to Wachs Arena on Wednesday to begin NSIC/Sanford Health Tournament play.  The Wolves wrapped up the No. 2 seed in the NSIC North and will host the seventh seed from the South Division, the University of Sioux Falls.  Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. following the conclusion of the women's contest.

The winner of Wednesday's contest will move on to face the winner of Augustana and Minnesota-Duluth, also set for Wednesday night in Sioux Falls.  Tournament semifinals and championship games will be held in Rochester, Minn.
