The Northern State football team looks to avoid a three-game losing streak Saturday as the Wolves travel to face Minnesota, Crookston in a 1 p.m. kick. Northern is 1-3 on the road so far this season. The Golden Eagles are looking for their first three-win season since 2000.
About the Golden Eagles
UMC is led by first year Interim Head Coach Mike Fritze. Defensively, the Golden Eagles are led by defensive back Tevin Kellum who is eighth in the NSIC averaging eight tackles per game this season. Kellum leads a secondary that has the third-best pass defense in the league, allowing just less than 197 yards per contest.
UMC has struggled offensively in 2013. Crookston averages a league-low 13.6 points scored per game this year. The Golden Eagles are led by freshman wide receiver Keoni Piceno who leads the squad with four receiving touchdowns.
Last Meeting
Northern rushed for 266 yards and six touchdowns in a dominating 52-20 victory last season in Aberdeen.

The Series
Northern and Minnesota, Crookston have met every year since 1999 with the Wolves winning 13-of-14 contests during that span. UMC's only win in the series was a 25-21 victory in 2000.

Saturday's forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies with temperatures in the mid-30s. Strong winds are expected at around 20 MPH in Crookston as well.

Tight end Connor Doherty leads the Northern passing attack. Doherty is second in the league amongst tight ends with 429 yards receiving this season. Doherty also leads the Wolves with four receiving touchdowns on the year. Wide receiver

th nationally.
Northern's rushing attack leans on multiple runners as the Wolves have had four separate players lead them in rushing in a single game this season.
