The 22nd-ranked Northern State volleyball team ended its regular season Saturday night as the Wolves feel to No. 8 Southwest Minnesota in four sets. Set scores 27-29, 25-21, 25-19 and 25-20. The loss was just Northern's second at home this season.

After winning a thrilling first set, 29-27, the Wolves couldn't keep up with Southwest at the end of sets the rest of the match as the Mustangs controlled much of the second and third sets.

Kelsey Chambers led the Wolves (21-6, 14-6 NSIC) with 13 kills in the match. Tori Biach was also in double figures for NSU as she finished with 11 kills. Whitney Kemink, Cari McGarvie and Jussy Tuscherer each added seven kills. The seven kills for Kemink are a career-high for her.

Drew Smith led the Wolves with 41 assists from her setter position. Smith had a solid all-around match as she finished with five digs and four total blocks in the loss. Sami Nygaard and Renee Hoffman each led Northern with 13 kills apiece. Tuscherer added 12 digs.

Southwest out-hit the Wolves .242 to .195 in the match and also had 16 total blocks to Northern's 12.

The Wolves begin action in the NSIC Tournament next week and will more than likely be heading back down to Augustana for a match with the Vikings.
