The Northern State football team looks to snap a four-game losing-streak Saturday as the Wolves travel to face 1-4 Minot State in a 2:30 p.m. contest.
About the Beavers
Minot State is coming off a 45-10 loss to in-state rival U-Mary last weekend. The Beavers' lone win this season was a 23-17 victory over Augustana in week two. Quarterback Zac Cunha is averaging 212 yards passing a game which ranks him 8
th in the conference. Wide receiver Wayne Peters leads the NSIC in receptions with 36. Peters has 332 yards receiving and three scores in 2013.
On the defensive side of the ball, defensive back Cooper Helm sits tied for second in the NSIC with three interceptions this year. Also on that side, linebacker Chad Marshall ranks fifth in the league averaging nearly 9.5 tackles per game.
Last year
Northern outgained the Beavers 449 to 270 in 2012's 31-17 victory for the Wolves.
Jared Jacobson tied a career-high with four passing TDs in the win. Jacobson accounted for 397 yards of total offense in the win.

Series
NSU is 8-7-1 all-time against Minot. Prior to last season, the last time the two teams faced-off was back in 1998 when NSU won 43-6 in Aberdeen. The Wolves have won the last three meeting in the series. Minot last won back in 1992.

The forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies on Saturday in Minot with temperatures in the high 40s. Strong wind gusts of 20-25 MPH are expected.

Northern is 1-0 under coach Dosch against Minot State. NSU is coming off a wild 47-46 loss last weekend in the 94
th annual Gypsy Days game to MSU Moorhead. The Wolves recorded season-highs in points (46), rushing yards (354), total yards (515) and touchdowns (7) in the loss to the Dragons. Connor Doherty, who is second in the league among tight ends with 286 yards receiving on the season, recorded his first career 100-yard game in the loss. Doherty caught four passes for 108 yards and a score against Moorhead.
