The Northern State volleyball team looks to close-out its four-game homestand on a high note this weekend as the Wolves host Bemidji State and Minnesota, Crookston Friday and Saturday, respectively.
Bemidji State comes to Wachs Arena for a 7 p.m. match. The Beavers are 5-10 overall on the season and 1-6 in the NSIC.
BSU is led by freshman outside hitter Jessica Yost with 192 kills. Yost is currently 10
th in the league in kills per set (3.34). Beavers setter Courtney Volkman recorded a career-high 54 assists last weekend against Minnesota State. Volkman is in the top-10 at BSU for career assists with 1,416.
NSU's match with Crookston is set for a 4 p.m. start Saturday. UMC heads into the weekend with a 7-8 mark and a 2-5 record in the league. The Golden Eagles are led by Brittany Looker who is sixth in the NSIC in kills per set with 3.72. As a team, UMC is third in the league averaging 1.54 aces per set.
Northern is coming off a 1-1 weekend to begin October last week, the Wolves were swept by Augustana Friday and responded with a 3-2 upset over 10
th-ranked Wayne State Saturday.

Sami Nygaard set a new career-high against the Wildcats with 27 digs.
Jussy Tuscherer tied a career-high with 13 kills in the win while also recording a new career-best 14 digs.
Cari McGarvie led the Wolves in the match with 14 digs while
Kelsey Chambers recorded her sixth double-double of the season with 13 kills and 12 digs.
Drew Smith led the team with a season-best 53 assists against WSC. Smith totaled 87 assists for the weekend.
Smith (11.37) and Nygaard (4.39) are both fifth in the league in assists and digs per set, respectively this season. Chambers is third in the NSIC averaging 4.14 kills per set and is fourth in the league scoring nearly 4.5 points per set.
Northern has not lost to Bemidji State (3-0) or Minnesota, Crookston (5-0) during the Aldridge era.
