ABERDEEN, S.D. -
Led by a 14-point, 9-rebound effort from senior Dustin Tetzlaff and 13 points on 3-for-4 shooting from long range by sophomore Michael Emge, the Northern State Wolves went on a second-half surge to claim their 11th win in their last 12 outings with a 66-47 win over Minnesota, Crookston Saturday night in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference men's basketball action.

The Wolves improved to 11-3 overall and 6-1 following their first sweep through the NSIC North Division.  UMC fell to 3-8 on the year and 0-7 in the loop.  Both teams begin South Division play next weekend.

UMC kept things close early in the night, but a 10-2 run midway through the second half stretched an eight-point lead into a 16-point advantage, capped by a Mack Arvidson trey with 11:06 to go.  Firmly in the driver's seat at that point, NSU pushed the lead to as many as 24 after four straight Trent Zomer points.

UMC's Tim Lubke answered with five points of his own to leave the final tally at 66-47.

Zomer came off the bench to score nine of his 11 points in the second half.  Collin Pryor, coming off a career-high-matching 25 points last night, finished with eight points and seven rebounds as NSU out-rebounded the Golden Eagles 40-18 on the night.

UMC was led by three players who came off the bench to score eight points apiece.  Ashton Harrell had eight points and four rebounds to lead the way.

NSU goes on the road for the first time in 2013 next weekend, facing Minnesota State and Concordia-St. Paul on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
