Box Score CROOKSTON, Minn. - As in the previous meeting between the two teams, the Northern State Wolves used a big second half to pull away from a tenacious Minnesota, Crookston squad, outscoring the Golden Eagles 44-30 in the second half en-route to a 72-53 win Friday evening in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference men's basketball action.

NSU improves to 15-5 on the season and 10-3 in conference play.  UMC, which started the season with three straight wins, dropped to 3-14 overall and 0-13 in the loop.

The two teams battled through 13 ties and seven lead changes before an 11-0 run by NSU's Jared Hannigan and Skye Warwick pushed a four-point NSU advantage into a 59-44 lead with 8:04 left to play.  Hannigan sparked the run with one of his two three-pointers of the game.  Warwick also drained a pair of treys in the run, while Hannigan added a steal and lay-up midway through and the momentum was swung firmly in favor of the Wolves.

UMC's Tomas Parker briefly stemmed the tide for the Golden Eagles with a bucket at the 7:45 mark, but back-to-back scores by Mack Arvidson and Collin Pryor made it an 18-point NSU advantage.  UMC would get no closer than 16 the rest of the way.

Pryor funished the night with a game-best 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting.  The senior also went 6-for-6 from the line.  Warwick's 11 points came on 3-of-4 shooting from long range and a 2-for-3 effort from the line.  As a team, NSU shot 59.5 percent from the floor, including a 9-for-19 effort (47.4 percent) from downton.  NSU was also a solid 13-for-15 from the line, missing just one attempt in each half.

UMC was led by Ashton Harrell's 14 points off the bench.  James Sparkman added 11 points.

With the win, NSU improves to 5-1 in road games this season.

The Wolves remain on the road tomorrow night, taking on Bemidji State in another key NSIC road contest.  The Wolves outlasted the Beavers 64-61 in the last meeting between the two teams back in early January.  BSU is coming off a big 76-75 win over MSU Moorhead on Friday night.
