ABERDEEN, S.D. -
Led by 20 points from NSU senior Collin Pryor and five players in double figures, the Northern State Wolves held off a scrappy, determined Dickinson State squad 74-64 Sunday afternoon in non-conference men's basketball action.  Pryor scored 20 points in the effort, going 8-for-12 from the floor, and in doing so, eclipsed the 1,000-point plateau for his career.

Pryor becomes the 46th member of NSU's 1,000-point club and the first since Mitch Boeck joined the elite membership during the 2009-10 season.

The win marks NSU's third straight and lifts the Wolves to 3-2 on the season.  The contest is considered an exhibition game for the Bluehawks.

Dickinson State held the early lead, taking a 5-0 lead in a low-scoring first few minutes.  NSU responded with 13 straight points, including three-pointers by Jared Hannigan and Michael Emge to regain the lead, which they would not relinquish the remainder of the night.

DSU did cut into the lead early in the second half, scoring the first six points of the period to make it a 30-29 affair, but NSU quickly pushed the lead back out to double digits on a conventional three-point play from Pryor.  Pryor, along with senior Geoffrey Firmin and Seth Bachand, carried the Wolves in the second half.  The trio scored 32 of their combined 43 point on the night in the stanza while going 11 of 13 from the line.

As a team, NSU went 5 of 8 from the line in the game's final minute, as Dickinson State was forced to foul to stop the clock.

Pryor ended the night with 20 points and nine rebounds.  Bachand had 13 points and six boards, four of which came on the offensive glass.  Firmin, Emge and freshman Mack Arvidson chipped in ten apiece.  The Wolves also badgered the Bluehawks into 20 turnovers, turning them into 24 points.

DSU was led by 12 points from both Ty Ackelson and Jared Hansen.  Matthew Lee added 11 points and a game-best 13 rebounds.

NSU is off for the Thanksgiving holiday and will resume action on Wednesday, Nov. 28, hosting Carleton College in the Wolves' final non-conference tune-up before opening NSIC action on Dec. 1 at home against MSU Moorhead.  The non-conference finale is set for a 7 p.m. tip-off.
