ABERDEEN, S.D. -
Northern State senior Kaleinani Kabalis slammed home 15 kills, while sophomore Macey Finizion and freshman Kelsey Chambers put down a dozen apiece to pace the Wolves to a three-set sweep of Minnesota, Crookston Saturday afternoon in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference regular season finale.

The Wolves claimed set wins of 25-19, 25-12 and 25-19 to finish the regular season on a four-match win streak.  Now at 18-10 overall and 13-7 in NSIC play, NSU ended the year winning 12 of its final 14 matches to post its highest win total in a decade.  The Wolves await post-season tournament brackets to be released later tonight.

UMC closed its season at 11-16 overall and 7-13 in the loop.

The Golden Eagles put up its strongest fight in the opening stanza, posting a .212 percentage at the net, but an even stronger NSU attack propelled the Wolves to the set win.  The Wolves hammered 19 kills in the set, including five from Chambers and four each from Kabalis, Finizio and senior Chelsea Chavez.  Kabalis also had nine digs in the set to help keep the Golden Eagles off the board.

Set two was more of the same with NSU taking an early 8-2 lead and never looking back.  Set three saw NSU commit a couple early miscues, but back-to-back service aces from Finizio and a kill from Kabalis gave the Wolves some cushion.  The Golden Eagles never recovered, and NSU cruised to the set and match win with another Kabalis kill sealing the deal.

Freshman setter Drew Smith posted 44 assists for the Wolves, while senior Ella Campbell notched a match-best 18 digs.  Finizio also recorded three of the Wolves' six service aces on the night.
