NSU looks to get back on track in weekend NSIC match-ups

SETTING THE STAGE: The Wolves are still looking for their first victory of the new year after dropping both of last week's contests. NSU opened the season 5-0 but have since dropped seven straight. The Wolves have been within reach in the waning moments in five of those seven losses, but have been unable to close out their opportunities. NSU will look to reverse recent fortune this weekend, however, traveling to Minnesota, Crookston and MSU Moorhead for another key NSIC road stretch. Because of the weather delays last weekend, the NSIC has adjusted this weekend's slate, moving all games back one day to Saturday and Sunday.

LAST TIME OUT: A powerful winter storm played havoc with the entire NSIC schedule last weekend, forcing the Wolves to play on Monday and Tuesday instead of the normal weekend schedule. The Wolves landed first at Upper Iowa, where they were held to just 57 points and fell 57-58 on a last-second shot by UIU's Dan Bestul. The stinger was NSU's first ever loss to the Peacocks. Still reeling from Monday night's set-back, the Wolves were again held to 57 points against 20th ranked Winona State on Tuesday. The Warriors pulled away in the final 30 minutes of play to post an 81-57 victory and hand the Wolves their most lopsided loss of the season.

WHO 2 WATCH 4: Collin Pryor (F, 6-6, 190, So., St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East HS) averaged 16.5 points and 4.0 rebounds for the Wolves, but couldn't push them over the edge. NSU dropped their first two games of 2011, one on a last-second jumper by UIU's Dan Bestul. Pryor scored 20 points in that effort, going 8-for-10 from the floor and 4-for-4 from the free throw line. He also had 13 points on 6 of 12 shooting on Tuesday against #20 Winona State.
