ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Northern State University men's basketball squad will be making its second trip in five days to Marshall, Minn. on Wednesday when the Wolves travel to Southwest Minnesota State University to take on the Mustangs in the first round of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference tournament.
The Wolves, who stumbled 51-66 to the Mustangs in the regular season finale on Saturday, will return to Marshall and attempt to put an end to the Mustangs' 15-game win streak in the NSIC tournament quarterfinals. NSU drew the No. 8 seed in that tournament after dropping the last four games of the season, while the streaking Mustangs, ranked No. 1 in the NCAA Central Region, claimed their second ever NSIC regular season title and with it, the No. 1 seed in the tournament.
