ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Northern State University wrestling team fought tooth-and-nail with the visiting Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs Wednesday, but fell to the visitors by a 24-12 final at Wachs Arena.

With the loss, the Wolves fall to 3-7 in dual action overall this season, and 0-4 in the very tough Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.  The Mustangs improve to 3-5 overall and 2-3 in the NSIC with the win.

The Wolves got three victories on the night, the first coming from a 10-4 decision in favor of Jacob Butrous over the Mustang's Lucas Giese.  Donnie Bowden earned a victory two matches later after he pinned his opponent at the 5:43 mark in his match after leading throughout the contest.  Corbin Surat's 10-4 victory via decision over SMSU's Jordan Roseboom would prove to be the last victory of the night for the Wolves.

The Wolves lost four other matches by a total of four points.

They are nexst in action this Saturday, February 14th, when they host their in-state rival Augustana College at 7:00 p.m.
