Box Score

VERMILLION, S.D. -
The Northern State University women's soccer team played the University of South Dakota to an even draw in nearly every statistical category except one - the score.  USD's Katie Quinones scored the game-winning goal in the 36th minute of the first half to lift the Coyotes to a 1-0 victory Sunday afternoon in a non-conference match-up.
The loss drops the Wolves to an even 3-3 on the year, all in non-conference play.  The Division I Coyotes move to 3-4 overall.
The Wolves matched the Coyotes shot-for-shot in cold and windy playing conditions, as each team put up nine total shots.  NSU had the slight edge in shots on goal at 6 to 5, but Quinones' shot that slipped past NSU goalkeeper Dee Wood proved to be the difference in the game.
Offensively, Kati Bronson, Maggie Fedor and Kaylee McDonald all had two shots apiece for the Wolves.  Both of Bronson's shots were on goal, while Fedor, who scored two goals in an 8-0 win over Mount Marty College on Saturday, had one SOG, as did McDonald.
NSU was whistled for eight fouls and eight offsides violations, while USD was called for five fouls, two offsides and three yellow cards.
