MANKATO, Minn. – The Northern State Wolves traveled to south-central Minnesota to take on the Mavericks of Minnesota State Friday and left town with a 3-1 loss. The Wolves played tough against the #6 ranked team in the Central Region, but a feisty MSU front-line that had four players with more than 10 kills proved to be too strong.

Set scores for the match were 21-25, 26-24, 21-25, and 17-25.
The Wolves were led by
Jill Rasmussen and her 11 kills coming from a .348 hitting percentage, while
Melanie Perez added nine kills of her own and the duo also combined for 23 digs on the defensive end.
Megan Gilbraith had another impressive night with 39 assists and a complimentary nine digs, and All-NSIC team member
Stephanie Nygaard led the defense with 16 digs.
With the loss, the Wolves fall to 15-14 overall on the year with a 6-13 mark in the NSIC.
They will close out their season tomorrow against the #6 Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs at 4:00 p.m.
Northern State is a NCAA Division-II member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and is located in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
