#6 Concordia-St. Paul Tops Wolves

ABERDEEN, S.D. - The Northern State volleyball team (8-7, 3-4 NSIC) took sixth-ranked Concordia-St. Paul (17-2, 7-1 NSIC) to four games before dropping the match, 22-30, 21-30, 32-30, and 22-30. The Wolves will return to action next weekend, traveling to Winona State and Upper Iowa in continued NSIC scheduling.

The Wolves played strong in the opening points of each game played, but Concordia's offensive might came through in the end, as CSP put down 70 kills to NSU's 53. The Wolves took the third game of the match after their hitting percentage topped out at .246. The Wolves hit .153 on the afternoon and had 53 kills.

The Golden Bears showed strength from all areas of the front row and received double digit kill performances from five different players. Whitney Meierotto led the pack with 16 kills and 17 digs, while Emily Palkert had 15 kills and notched seven block assists. Maggie McNamara led her team to victory with 58 set assists. CSP had 81 digs in the match and nine team blocks.

The Wolves were led by Kayla Ysteboe and Stephanie Perez with 13 kills each. Perez finished the match with a triple double, also recording 25 assists and 12 digs. Steph Nygaard led the team with 22 of NSU's 76 digs. Kelsey Aden came through with seven block assists on the night. The Wolves had 7.5 total blocks.
