Berg won the weight throw at both the SDSU D2 Invite and Jim Emmerich Invite. The graduate student opened his weekend throwing 21.24m in the weight, to take the crown and break the meet record at the D2 Invite. He also added a third place finish in the shot put, throwing 16.19m. Berg threw a new school record of 22.58m, winning the weight at the Emmerich Invite. His throw ranks in the top-3 of all NCAA divisions and is the third best throw in Division II history. Berg ranks first in the weight and 20th in the shot put nationally.
