Blake Day enters his fourth year as the Senior Vice President for the Northern State University Foundation in the fall of 2024 and second stint in Aberdeen. In this role, Day leads the Foundation’s development effort under the direction of the President/CEO.
He works closely with the Director of Athletics and Deans of the College of Arts and Sciences, Millicent Atkins School of Education, School of Business and School of Fine Arts. Day is also be responsible for managing principal and leadership level fundraising activities to raise private support and provide leadership for the Foundation.
Day comes to NSU from South Dakota State University, where he has worked as Associate Athletic Director for Development since 2017. Prior to that, he served as Assistant Athletic Director of Development at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Day also previously worked for three years at NSU, serving as Director of Athletic Development and Marketing and Assistant Athletic Director for Development and Marketing.
He opened his career as a marketing graduate assistant at South Dakota State. During his first bout at SDSU, Day was mostly involved with game day operations at Jackrabbit athletic events, including game scripts, game-day promotions, and sponsor presentations. He also performed the same duties for various Summit League events, including the men's and women's basketball tournaments from 2010 to 2012. A native of Winner, S.D., Day received his Bachelor's degree in Business Economics from SDSU in 2009 and his Master's degree in Sport Administration from SDSU in 2011.
