Laci Hettick joined the Northern State University Foundation in the fall of 2021 and currently serves as Senior Director of Development for Major Gifts & Athletics. In this role, Hettick works to build relationships with alumni, donors, businesses, and friends of Northern to advance philanthropic support for the university.
Hettick leads fundraising and development efforts for NSU Athletics, working closely with Athletics leadership, coaches, student-athletes, and supporters to strengthen philanthropic and corporate support for Wolves Athletics. Her work includes major gifts, athletic scholarships, corporate partnerships, donor engagement and stewardship, and fundraising initiatives. She also serves as the Foundation liaison to the NSU Wolves Club, the fundraising arm of Wolves Athletics. In this role, she developed and implemented NSU's Bourbon & Brews, an annual scholarship fundraiser that has become one of NSU Athletics’ signature fundraising events.
In addition to her work with Athletics, Hettick manages a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors and supports fundraising efforts for Northern’s College of Arts & Sciences.
Prior to joining the NSU Foundation, Hettick held several positions at Northern. She served as an academic advisor from 2011-15, student success coordinator from 2013-15, and TRIO Student Support Services Director from 2015-21. Through her work with TRIO, she served in various leadership roles with ASPIRE, Inc., including as South Dakota State Chapter President from 2019-21.
Hettick holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master of Science in Educational Studies from Northern State University. A former Wolves track and field student-athlete, she competed for Northern from 2008-10.
Hettick and her husband, Josh, reside in Aberdeen with their three children, Josie, Dashiell, and Lila.
