Prep: Mewes is a 165 pound wrestler from Jamestown High School. He is a 6-year letter winner and 3-year team captain of the Jamestown Blue Jays. Paxton has 193 career wins at Jamestown and jolds the school record for season pins, season wins, career wins, and career pins. Paxton is a 5-time state place winner, 4-time Academic All-American and 4-time Optimus Club Athlete of the Week. Mewes is the 2016 North Dakota State High School Champion with a record of 52-1 as a senior. He also participates in football, golf, and track and field for the Blue Jays.He is the son of John and Tammy Mewes.
