Pat Timm

Pat Timm is entering his 14th year as the head coach of the Northern State Wolves in 2014-15.

Timm's impressive resume boasts coaching athletes to two national championships, 10 All-Americans, 24 Academic All-Americans, 34 National Qualifiers, and 30 All-Conference awards since coming to the Wolves.

Timm is credited with the development of Matt Meuleners, who won his second NCAA Division II national title in the heavyweight division as a junior, a year after gaining All-America status in the 197-pound bracket as a redshirt freshman.

The 2007-08 squad leaped to a second place finish in the NSIC, improving their overall record from 4-12 in 2006-07 to 9-7 the following year.  They appeared periodically in the national rankings and pulled off upsets over ranked DII and NCAA DI teams.

Timm has led the Wolves to four top-two finishes in the NSIC, winning the Conference title in 2002-03 and placing second in 2001-02, 2003-04, 2004-05 and 2007-08. Timm has continued to bring the Wolves back to their Championship form and national prominence with a 15th-place finish at the 2004 NCAA Division II tournament.

Timm was named NSIC Wrestling Coach of the Year in 2002, as his Wolves posted an impressive 14-7 record against NSIC Conference opponents.

Timm was a two time All-American for South Dakota State University on his way to compiling a career record of 83-42 from 1993-1998. He placed third at 184 pounds in the 1998 NCAA Division II National Championships his senior year and seventh his junior season.

Timm then went on to coach 11 athletic All-Americans and 11 Academic All-Americans as the assistant coach for SDSU from 1998-2000. Timm graduated from South Dakota State with a bachelor’s degree in History Education and went on to earn a masters degree in Athletic Administration in August 2000.

He and his wife Jennifer have a daughter named Andie and son, Grayden.
