Prep: Chauncy Goethals is a 5-foot-9, 125-pound wrestler out of Aberdeen Central High School. He is a 2-year starter for the Golden Eagles under head coach Merle Aske. Goethals tallied a senior season record of 37-14 with 17 pins and 55 takedowns, and finished his career with 70 victories. He is a Greco State Champion and Border Boys Greco/Freestyle Champion. Goethals is also a 2-time state qualifier and finished fifth overall in 2016. He was named to the Aberdeen American News All-Area team in 2016 and was a member of the 2014 State Champion Golden Eagles team. Goethals is also a member of the Aberdeen Central cross country team. He is the son of NSU wrestling alumni Rich Goethals, and his mother Missy is also a Northern alum.
