Northern State University Athletics

Makayla is from Dakota Dunes, SD. She competed for the Panthers at Dakota Valley High School. She plans on graduating with a degree in Biology. 

2013
Indoor:  Makayla posted a best mark in the open 800 with a time of 2:20.94 and ran a leg on the record breaking  4X400 with a time of 3:56.47. She posted 2^nd in the open 800 in three consecutive meets this season.  Makayla and her 4X400 relay squad managed to break the school record twice this past season and posted a 5^th place at the University of Nebraska Tune-up meet.  She scored points in both the open 800, placing 7^th and running a leg on the 4X400 team, which placed 8^th at the NCIS Indoor Championships.
Outdoor: She was unable to compete due to an injury.

2012  
Indoor : She posted a person best of 2:21.07 in the 800 and 3:14.21 in the 1000. She placed 2^nd in the 800 at the NSU Triangular. She also tabbed two first place finishes in the 800 and 4X400 at the NSU/MSU Dual.  Her 4X400 relay squad placed 4^th at the NDSU Bison Open.  She helped her 4X400 relay team score points in the 4x400 by placing 8^th at the NSIC Indoor Championships.
Outdoor: She posted a best time of 2:18.91 in the 400 and 59.82 in the open 400. She placed 1^st in the open 800 at the NSU Open.  Her 4X800 relay squad placed 3^rd at the Sioux City Relays with a time of 9:25.16 and she placed 4^th in the open 400. She was a member of the 4X400 relay team that placed 6^th at the NSIC Outdoor Championships. 

2011
Indoor: She posted a personal best time in the 800 with 2:30.35, 1:45.11 in the 600, and 3:12.98 in the 1000. Her 4X400 relay team placed 7^th at the NDSU Bison Open. She placed 2^nd in the 800 at the NSU Triangular. She tabbed a 3^rd place finish in the 600 at the NSU Open. She finished in 5^th place in the 1000 at the Nebraska Tune-up. She helped her team score points in the DMR placing 5^th at the NSIC Indoor Championships.
Outdoor: She had a personal best of 2:25.26 in the open 800. She placed 6^th in the 800 at the SDSU Twilight meet.  Her SMR relay team placed 3^rd at Howard Wood Relays. She also tabbed a 7^th place at Howard Wood in the open 800.
