Mikaela Waiflein joined the Northern State swim staff in the fall of 2019 as the Water Wolves Swim Lessons Program Director and an assistant coach. A Northern State swimming alumni, Waiflein joins the program with a wealth of experience.
Waiflein holds 15 years of coaching experience with both the Aberdeen Swim Club and YMCA lesson program. Her primary duties with the Water Wolves include the day-to-day operations of the lesson program, as well as registration organization and the hiring and training of swim lesion instructors. In addition to her work with the Water Wolves, Waiflein will assist with the collegiate team’s training throughout the year.
She currently works fulltime as a second grade teacher at O.M. Tiffany School in Aberdeen. Waiflein received her bachelor of science in Elementary Education and master of education in Teaching and Learning from Northern State University.
