Biography

The Wannebo File: 

2007:
As a senior defender, she started and played in all 22 games. She had seven shots with four shots on goal, but her accomplishments were not often found in the stats. She was an excellent defender and was a crucial component to a defense that allowed only two goals in the NSIC. Wannebo was honored with many awards including the NSIC Defensive Player of the Year, a selection to the All-NSIC First Team, and was also selected for 2007 Daktronics NCAA II Women’s Soccer All-Central Region First Team. Wannebo became the first NSU soccer player to reach All-America status, being named to the 2007 NSCAA/adidas All-America Third Team (Wannebo was an NSCAA/adidas All-Central Region First Team member).

2006: Played in 16 games her junior year, making 13 starts...notched one assist on the season and took one shot on goal...named to the 2006 All-NSIC First Team.

2005: Played in 18 games…Started 17…missed four games due to injury…took ten shots her sophomore season, including three on goal.

2004: Played in 22 games...had one assist on the season...marked eight shots, including four on goal.

High School: Kira Wannebo attended Archbishop McCarthy High School (Weston, FL) where she was a teammate with current NSU goalkeeper Theresa Alexander. Wannebo can play in any position as she played attacking midfield and striker in high school and defensive C/M for her club team. She was also a member of the All-Broward County team for her outstanding play.
