Katie Bourk

Katie Bourk enters her third season as an assistant coach for the Northern State University women's basketball program in 2025-26. Bourk spent the previous 12 seasons on staff at NSIC opponent Augustana University. 

Northern went 19-11 overall and 15-7 in the Northern Sun, earning a first round bye into the NSIC Tournament in 2024-25. NSU tallied nationally ranked victories over No. 6 Minnesota State, No. 16 Concordia-St. Paul, and No. 17 Southwest Minnesota State during the regular season. Northern went undefeated in NSIC play frm Wachs Arena and spent the final weeks of the season ranked in the NCAA Central Region. Three Wolves were named to the NSIC All-Conference teams in Rianna Fillipi, Madelyn Bragg, and Michaela Jewett, while Jewett earned CSC Academic All-District honors. 

The Wolves went 20-9 overall and 16-6 in the Northern Sun, finishing fourth in the league standings in 2023-24. They closed out the season ranked top-5 in the NSIC in scoring, scoring defense, field goal percentage, field goal percentage defense, free throw percentage, and assist/turnover ratio. Rianna Fillipi and Madelyn Bragg earned All-Conference honors, as the pair led the team in numerous categories.

At Augustana, Bourk spent two seasons as a graduate assistant and ten seasons as a full-time assistant coach. The Vikings posted a record of 254-100 with Bourk on staff, making four NCAA Tournament appearances, including one Central Region Championship and Final Four appearance. Bourk coached four WBCA All-Americans, two NSIC Players of the Year, and five NSIC Defensive Players of the Year in her tenure. In 2018, Bourk was honored by the WBCA with the 30 Under 30 Coaching Award.
 
Bourk opened her coaching career at Colman-Egan High School, assisting with the junior varsity and varsity programs. In addition to her assistant duties at Augustana, Bourk served as the team’s recruiting coordinator. She is a 2011 graduate of Dakota State University, earning a bachelor’s in Physical Education and 2013 graduate of Augustana University, earning a master’s in Sports Administration and Leadership.
