Josh Lees

Josh Lees enters his second season as an assistant coach for the Northern State University women's basketball program in the fall of 2024. Lees joined the Wolves after five seasons as the head coach at Oakland Community College.

The Wolves went 20-9 overall and 16-6 in the Northern Sun, finishing fourth in the league standings in 2023-24. They closed out the season ranked top-5 in the NSIC in scoring, scoring defense, field goal percentage, field goal percentage defense, free throw percentage, and assist/turnover ratio. Rianna Fillipi and Madelyn Bragg earned All-Conference honors, as the pair led the team in numerous categories.

At OCC, Lees was a 2-time MCCAA Coach of the Year and led his team to a top-20 ranking in the NJCAA. Oakland made their first national tournament appearance in school history under his direction and led the league defensively in back-to-back seasons.
 
Lees opened his coaching career at Troy and Avondale High Schools in Michigan, serving in both assistant and head roles. Lees played collegiately at NCAA Division III Trine University. He received his associate’s degree from Oakland Community College in 2018 and bachelor’s degree in Leadership and Management from Rochester University in 2021.
