As a prep he was a 3-year starter for the Blackhawks under the direction of head coach Pete Swanson. He was a 2-time First Team All-Coulee Conference selection at Viroqua and hit .390 with three homeruns his senior season. Out of high school, Wedwick attended Riverland CC and was a starter for the Blue Devils. He is the son of Corey and Jana Wedwick.
