Steven McKee

Steven McKee enters his third year full time year with the Northern State Athletic department in the fall of 2023. McKee kicked off his career as the Coordinator of Marketing and Events, before moving into the roles of the Assistant Athletic Director for External Operations and as of January 2024 the Associate Athletic Director for External Operations. McKee manages corporate partnerships for the department, season tickets and the department's third party ticketing software, and is the sport administrator for swimming, wrestling, and baseball. In addition, he serves as the tournament director for the Wolves on the Water fishing tournament. 

As the Coordinator of Marketing and Events at NSU in 2021-22, he was the liaison for game operations for the department and assisted with various athletics related special events. In addition, he fulfilled marketing and sponsorship agreements, assisted with various sponsorship sales, ticket sales and customer service initiatives, and worked to increase student and overall fan attendance at Wolves events. 
 
From 2018-21 he served as the Intramurals and Recreation and Athletic Operations Graduate Assistant at Northern State. In his graduate assistant roles, McKee oversaw 16 intramural programs, which served over 400 students, managed the Northern State Nike Team Store, promoted NSU athletics and athletic fundraising events including the NSU Golf Classic and the Wolves on the Water tournament, and assisted in the direction of the Wolves Buddies and Howling Wolves programs.
 
McKee kicked off his athletics career as a game day and event worker at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls. He worked directly with spectators in the facility, providing a safe environment for both spectators and participants.
 
McKee is a 2018 graduate of the University of Sioux Falls, earning bachelor's degrees in Business Administration and Sports Management. The Yankton, S.D. native played four seasons for the Cougar football team, appearing in 23 total games. McKee concluded his USF career with 71 tackles and 11.5 sacks. He also received his master's in Sport Performance and Leadership from Northern State in May of 2021.
